my SWEET summer!

As I sit in my apartment at school, the fact that my 5 1/2 month summer is over starts to set in. I had so many things planned, and I set so many goals for myself while I was away from school...and of course I didn't do any of it. Nonethelss, I would still say my summer was a definate success!
First event of my summer was the bridal shower I threw for my best bud Mckenzie! Her wedding was beautiful! She was married June 1 in the Salt Lake Temple to her highschool sweetheart, Kelson Richards. They are so happy together and are doing great!

My job was a good experience for me, and it really tested me to see if I could handle the medical field. I think of anyone I know, my summer job was the most interesting. I got to hang out with some pretty crazy elderly people for a few months, I got to be in charge of other people and had to make sure they were doing their job the way it should be done, and there were a few times that I got to take care of people that had passed away. Some of the residents were some pretty interesting characters. There was my buddy Merl, an old Southern man who was pretty "handsy," and made sure everyday that I knew how "sure pretty" I am. Another resident, Floyd, had Alziehmers and wasn't really in touch with reality, and sometimes he'd get so mad at us CNA's, he tried his hardest to beat us up...he definately landed a few well placed kicks in my stomach, and he's not as weak as he looks! Eventually, I learned how to sweet talk him, just by talking about horses to him (He was a major cowboy). Everything he said in reply of course made absolutely no sense, but it made me laugh, and at least he wasn't trying to take a swing at me! My favorite resident was my girl Eleanor. She was a good friend of mine and I'd spend as much time as I could talking to her. She was a fiesty old lady and had a quick, sarcastic sense of humor. She didn't really care for many of the people working there, but for some reason we got along great. She'd even push her call light every five minutes until I was the one that came to answer it!

I would have to say by far the best part of my summer was meeting Chris! We started dating in the beginning of June, and since then we've had so much fun! He's such a great guy and I can't wait for eveyone to meet him! He'd been eyeing me for a few weeks, and finally worked up the courage to talk to me after I played the cello in sacrament meeting for the stake presidency. Everytime we were together it was loads of fun, and he just started to grow on me! Now it seems like I just can't get enough of him! We took a trip to Lagoon, and I have a few pictures.

I think I may have over swung at the Putt Putt....

OOps....did I really just put this one on my blog? :)

We ended the day with a trip to Salt Lake to eat and visit Temple Square. It was beautiful and I was glad he was there with me. Now we're both in Rexburg, he's working and I'm back to the books, and we're as great as ever! Keep an eye out and I'll keep you posted on any news :)

All in all, I had a pretty fabulous summer and I'm a little sad it's over, but there's still lots of fun to be had, and even more wonderful adventures to look forward to!
